eish privacy policy

The short version: eish stores your email address and the spending and budget information you type in, so you can use it on your phone and keep it safe in your account. There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your data is never sold or shared for marketing. You can delete your account and all of its data from inside the app at any time.

Who we are

eish is a personal spending tracker made by Asher Samwaka (Ahulu Technologies) in Windhoek, Namibia. Questions about this policy: ashersamwaka01@gmail.com.

What we collect

Account details: your email address and password, used to sign you in. Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication and are never visible to us.
What you enter: spending entries (what you bought, the amount, the category, and the date and time you logged it), and your monthly budget (pay, other income and its description, and your plans).

We don't collect your location, contacts, photos, device identifiers or usage analytics.

Where it's stored

On your phone, so the app works offline.
In your account, using Google Firebase. Your entries and budgets are stored in Cloud Firestore in Johannesburg, South Africa. Sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication, which Google may process in other countries.

Only you can read or change your data: the database only allows access to the signed-in owner of each account, and all data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS).

What stays on your phone only

Your reminder setting and time. Daily reminders are scheduled on your phone; no server sends them.
Exports. "Export as CSV" creates a file on your phone and opens the share sheet. Where it goes from there is up to you.

How we use it

Only to run the app: signing you in, showing and saving your entries and budgets, keeping them in step across your devices, and sending password-reset emails when you ask for one.

Sharing

We don't sell or share your data. Google provides the hosting (Firebase) as a service provider and processes data only to run the service. We would disclose data only if required by law.

Deleting your data

In the app, go to Settings → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account and all your entries and budgets from our database, and clears them from that phone. You can also email us to ask for deletion.

Children

eish isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
